Big Fat Rainbow (s)

Small lake, small fish, right? Not at all! Thank goodness I had the sense not to put my boat on the big lake! Heck it was so windy on it that one couldn't even cast from the shore!

Anyway, on Lake Ogallala I would have had three big Rainbow and one small, lest the two others escape. It was too windy to kill the motor as I would have drifted onto the rocks, so I was unable to focus on landing one big fish. The other fish got away as the net got tangled.

Walleye are good eating, but nothing compares to a Trout, especially with pink meat! It's amazing to watch the brave fisherman huddled along the rocks of Kingsley Dam with the waves crashing in, as it was getting dark. I gingerly climbed down the rocks and tried a few casts with a crankbait; a few landed in the water, but after one cast flew back over my shoulder and tangled in my pack I decided to call it quits!

Sheltered by the Dam, one can always find some calm water on the small lake.
