Leahy says Clinton should withdraw...

What? I think both Democratic Senators should agree that this will end well before the convention. But now? Several states remain, such as Pennsylvania. I believe the Hill has done well enough to stick around for a while.

Once this thing gets settled, then the real sniping will begin.

His speach won't solve everything, but...

I believe Sen. Obama hit one out of the park. If he had thrown Rev. Wright "under the bus" as is expected of politicians, well then I would have no use for him. For Christs sake, Oprah went to that church! Most people, even some of us white males, like her. Hillary did throw Geraldine Ferraro under the bus, as it were.

Geez, I'm over race. I've slept with a wide variety of races and understand it is only skin deep. I don't give a damned WHAT race or even religion a candidate is IF they can convince me that they could do the job. Yes, Obama still has to do that.

Strange headlines...

Check this out: • Iraqis more hopeful, but few credit U.S. ... Suicide bomb kills 39

Now, is this just coincidence that these two news items occured together???? Or were they put together to mask what is really good news. Well, at least it is good that the Iraqis are hopeful!!

My disappointment...

I am not disappointed that Mr. Obama went to that church. I think the "racist" (well, everything is racist now a days) and "anti-American" rants of his pastor will continue to dog Obama for some time.

This is not to say that I could not understand the context of some of the things that were said. I only wish that Americans could drop their massive egos and become more self critical at times. But it sounds that this fella is way over the top in some of those sermons. For Barack to state that he had never heard one of those sermons seems real disingenuous to me.

No, my disappointment lies not with Barack or even the pastor. I am sad, because that particular church affiliation would be generally one I could join (if indeed I decided to be Christian). Now, I'm not talking about the Trinity United Church of Christ - but the United Church of Christ in general. From what I can discern, the two are related.

Well, this whole thing distracts from the issues. I say Mr. Obama has a great political future, but he needs to become more experienced. Shockingly, this could come in office as President of the United States.

Back from Vegas...

Vegas was neat! Wouldn't want to live there, but enjoyed myself. The desert air was pretty clear this time of year. Let me include a picture of the "strip":

Huckabee endorses Colorado 'personhood' amendment...

Yup, he be down in the Springs living it up with his brothers. According to Huck:

"With this amendment, Colorado has an opportunity to send a clear message that every human life has value," Huckabee said. "Passing this amendment will mean the people of Colorado will protect the sanctity of life from conception until natural death occurs."

Sure, to him, a fertilized egg has value. But what about the 50 year old homeless veteran??? Would this mean that a rape victim couldn't theoretically get emergency contraception???? I dunno how they determine if an egg is fertilized, but since the rape occurred, it is possible. Lofty language aside, the Bush administration has taken tens of thousands of innocent lives.
